MOUNTAIN  HOME  DESERT  RETREAT

Profile

The Mountain Home Desert Retreat Is Interdenominational

It's located on a 40 acre site near the Town of Acton, in the high Mojave Desert of southern California. Mountain Home is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Pelona Mountains, near the southern upslope of 5517 foot, Houser Mountain. Mountain Home is at 3500 feet elevation, about 55 miles north of Los Angeles, and some 15 miles south of Palmdale, and the Antelope Valley.

Mountain Home is open year round to provide a peaceful place for individuals and groups.                 This is the right place to be "Alone" with God.

Native rock is used to create the buildings as they appear today. Most rooms have heaters, to make the winter retreatant’s stay more comfortable. The rock architecture naturally keeps the rooms somewhat cooler during the summer months. Winter temperatures usually range from 30-40 degrees at night to 50-60 degrees during the day. Summer temperatures usually range from 65-75 at night to 95-105 during the day. If you enjoy nature, and roughing-it a bit, this is the place for you and/or your church group to "get away" for an hour, or a week or.
